Weddings and Namings:
In the current circumstances, no new wedding or naming bookings can be taken until further notice. All ceremonies planned for Spring/Summer 2020 have been postponed or cancelled.
Funerals:
These are continuing at present following strict measures detailed below.
Home visits: As all Humanist funerals are written individually it is usual to spend time with the family to learn about the deceased. This, and all follow-up conversation, will now be done by phone, videolink and/or email.
Ceremonies: These should only be attended by close family, and mourners must sit two metres from anyone not in their household. Ceremonies may be shorter than usual with any contributions pre-recorded. The curtains must be closed before the mourners stand to leave the chapel. Due to the safe distancing requirements, I am unable to greet or say goodbye to mourners as I would usually do. The Presentation copy of the ceremony will be emailed rather than being handed to you on the day.
Donations: Arrangements for donations should be discussed with your Funeral Director.
Burials: Graveside committals should be attended by immediate family only, observing the social distancing rules with anyone not from the same household.
Memorial ceremonies: In time, when it is safe and permissible to do so, I will be happy to work with you to create and conduct a full and fitting memorial ceremony for your loved one, when everyone you wish to be there will hopefully be able to attend.
